"Spread Wildflower Seeds across the Coastal Prairie"
About Us
District IV is your local link to our state organization, Texas Garden Clubs, Inc. Its purpose is to advance the fine art of gardening, landscape design, and the study of horticulture and floral design; to offer scholarships for horticultural and floricultural education, conservation, and landscape design; to promote involvement of youth in gardening activities; and to coordinate TGC and NGC activities at the local level. We are a 501(c)(3) organization. Texas Garden Clubs, Inc. has divided the state of Texas into 10 Districts based on soil & climatic similarities, problems, and plant material: #1 Panhandle, #2 The Blacklands, #3 East Texas, # 4 Coastal Prairie, #5 Central, #6 Lower Valley, #7 South Texas, #8 Plateau,#9 Mountain Plains, and #10 Blacklands. District IV is in the Coastal Prairie section and is made up of the 23 counties of Austin, Brazoria, Calhoun, Chambers, Colorado, DeWitt, Fayette, Fort Bend, Galveston, Gonzales, Hardin, Harris, Jackson, Jefferson, Lavaca, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Orange, Victoria, Waller, Washington, and Wharton. District IV gives a scholarship each year to a deserving student studying either in the horticultural, landscape, or conservation area. We also donate money to the Brookwood Community. Our donations go directly to fund their gardening needs. We plant trees in honor of Arbor Day in the winter months at locations in our District like the Fisher House at the Veteran’s Hospital or a local school campus. Also, our funds are donated to worthwhile projects such as Disaster Relief and Seeds for Life which is a program started by District IV that sends money and seeds throughout the world.

District IV Members News & Volunteer Opportunities
NGC Symposium for Flower Shows (October 13-15, 2026)
United Way of Fort Bend County
12300 Parc Crest Drive
Stafford, TX 77477
We have an upcoming opportunity for all your garden club members to attend the NGC Symposium in Houston from October 13–15. This is a grand opportunity for us here in Texas as for many years we have had to travel out of state. It's open to judges, garden club members and others who are interested.
A symposium differs significantly from a flower show school because it features the study of 2 plant types, design, and an allied topic which in this case is Fiberworks presented in a workshop format. Many attendees find new and interesting ways to design and expand their knowledge of plants.
Please encourage your garden clubs and membership by including the registration form or inviting them via email with this registration form.
.
***One edit on the registration: We are not studying Angular Designs, but rather Abstract and Tubular.
Tubular is an easy design to create while Abstract opens up unique creative designs done in a non-naturalistic and non-realistic manner.
Thank you for spreading the opportunity,
